Overheating Risk Assessment
Overheating Risk Assessments are becoming an essential part of sustainable building design. They help identify whether a building is likely to become uncomfortably or dangerously hot during warm weather, particularly important with rising summer temperatures and stricter planning requirements.
We carry out overheating assessments in line with CIBSE TM59 (for residential buildings) and TM52 (for non-residential buildings). These assessments use dynamic thermal modelling to predict indoor temperatures based on building design, orientation, insulation levels, glazing, ventilation, and occupancy.
Overheating assessments are often required:
- As part of planning applications for new developments
- To meet building regulations and local authority guidance
- For BREEAM credits or other sustainability targets
- In buildings with high internal gains or limited natural ventilation
We provide fully compliant reports and practical design advice to help reduce overheating risks while maintaining energy efficiency.
Our services cover London, West Sussex, and the North West.
